Mural on Plaça Constitució
The very first action to kick off the COLOR initiative was a large mural painted by local artist Urih, from Rubí’s own association Petados Crew, on one of the façades of Plaça Constitució.
Actions in the public space
COLOR proposes a series of artistic interventions in the town’s public spaces to maximise creativity and give citizens lively colors to attract their attention.
The actions already executed include the spectacular mural by Urih from the Petados Crew on one of the façades of Plaça Constitució, the carpet of colours painted by edRa in Plaça Pere Esmendia and in the expanded pedestrian areas, the surprise intervention of the Umbrella Sky Project on Passeig Francesc Macià and the Full Colors Festival.
Project plans for the medium-term include the installation of a monument that pays homage to all the lands that enrich Rubí, the revival of the Mixing Colors event and a competition on unused dividing walls.
Benches in Plaça Nova Estació
Coinciding with the commemoration of LGTBI Pride Day 2020, the Town Council painted the benches in Plaça Nova Estació the colors of the rainbow.
Plaça Pere Esmendia
The edRa Art & Design School crafted its graphic proposal for the COLOR initiative on the ground of Plaça Pere Esmendia.
Umbrella Sky Project
Hundreds of umbrellas shaped a huge ceiling of colors on Passeig Francesc Macià, between Carrer Sant Cugat and Plaça Catalunya.
Carrer de Cervantes
The iconic image of COLOR washes over the pavement on Carrer de Cervantes between Cal Príncep and Avinguda Barcelona.
